The March of Dimes Bay Area March for Babies is Saturday, May 4th. This important fundraiser is helping reduce infant and mother mortality in the United States.

Virtual Walk Details

​

• Get pledges for your walk same as you normally would with the tools on the March for Babies website

• Aim to walk 4 miles the weekend of May 4-5.  

• If you come to Shift Beyond and the Casino Royale gala that evening, the walking between
  workshops and your Gala dancing will get you to 4 miles no problem.  We will have March of Dimes
  tee shirts for those who raise $100+ at Shift Beyond. 

• Can’t attend Shift Beyond?  That’s ok – just walk anytime April – May to make the miles count

 

Preterm birth is the #1 cause of infant death in the US and a major cause of childhood disability.  The March of Dimes continues to fund important research and education with the goal to decrease the rate of preterm birth in the US to 8.1% by 2020 and to 5.5% by 2030.  This will mean 1.3 million fewer preemies, a $70 billion cost savings, and the US will move from among the worst of high resource countries to one of the best in full-term birth rates.
